OAC provided project management services to the Kennewick Public Facilities District (KPFD) for the Three Rivers Convention Center.
The 80,000-sq.-ft., concrete-tilt-up meeting facility includes a 21,600-sq.-ft. "great hall" that accommodates groups of 2,100, and a
large, high efficiency kitchen that can deliver 1,400 meals in 30 minutes. OAC represented and supported the KPFD through the design-build project delivery by finalizing the design-builder proposals request, overseeing candidate interviews, writing contracts, and then managing the design and construction phases of the project. OAC managed the addition of 10 percent scope enhancements to the project after greater revenues and savings were realized; set up a special project team communications website; reviewed both the design and installation of building envelope components for improved sustainability; regularly monitored and reported field progress; approved design-build payment requests; facilitated procurement of extensive furnishings and equipment; provided mechanical systems commissioning; and supervised the smooth transition from completion of construction to facility occupancy. Design and phased construction was completed on time and under budget by the design-builder in June 2004. |
